Hi there,
If you’d like to elevate your writing, I’m here to help. I offer one-to-one mentoring sessions on your writing with kind, helpful and specific feedback. You can check my availability and book in with me below.
And if you’re a paid member of
you receive a 10% discount.Paid members, the button to book is at the end of the email.
‘Thank you so much for being there from the beginning of my journey with “The Million Pieces of Neena Gill” – for all your valuable feedback, your time, your support and belief in me. I couldn’t have done it without you.’
Emma Smith-Barton, The Million Pieces of Neena Gill, published by Penguin
Here’s what it involves:
we meet on Zoom for an hour to chat about your writing.
if you want, you can send me up to 2,000 words of your work at least TWO days in advance.
when you press the button below, you’ll be directed to payment and email, but you can always use my Substack email. And you’ll automatically receive a Zoom link, confirmation and reminder email.
we can also meet in person over coffee and cake if you’re coming to stay at our writing retreat, Wild Pinebeck, (check out dates on Airbnb and message me about it first before booking; members receive 10% discount on the retreat too).
I love talking to writers about their work.
I’ll be most helpful if you’re writing nature non-fiction or fiction, particularly thrillers and crime fiction (but I have written historical fiction too). And I like most fiction and most writers.
Here’s what one of mentees wrote about my mentorship (he went on to receive a four book publishing deal):
‘Sanjida’s input was a real game changer for me. She was able to strip the manuscript back to it’s component parts, and gave me amazing insight into how each bit contributed, which ones were already strong, and more importantly, the aspects that could be be tightened up. It’s no coincidence that after dozens of rejections, I was picked up by an agent a few months after her help.’
Robert Scragg, author of What Falls Between the Cracks, the first in the Porter & Styles crime fiction series, published by Allison & Busby
Feel like giving it a go?
My office hours are Thursdays with sessions at 2, 3 and 4pm (sending in your work by the previous Tuesday at the latest). But if this doesn’t work for you, let me know and we’ll figure something out.
Feel free to have a FREE chat with me to see if this is right for you first (office hours are Thursday afternoons).
