A lovely read, Sanjida. It's great to read about how nature is nurtured and evolves around your home. My favourite phrase is 'mini highway for dormice'. The other day, I saw a wriggly grey tail disappear behind some Leylandii. Maybe you could get a few writers to stay at your lovely retreat/nearby to help you next year ;-) I hear wine and olives are just as good as cake and beer ;-)

Aw thank you Victoria! Whose tail do you think it might have been? 🤔 Well that would be lovely - writers who helped us rewild! I think I could manage wine and olives! Seriously, a bit of hard labour or even a short walk really helps my writing!

Very Welcome, Sanjida! It was a little field mouse. Very cute!

I had visions of being outside and helping you, sadly possibly nixed by caregiving needs and mum’s immunocompromised state, making me extra-careful interacting…But I thought, how COOL for other writers, fresh air, writing…I can read-live vicariously through others! OR video, please!

I'm so sorry to hear that Victoria (mouse - how lovely though). My mum is in a care home but we had a difficult couple of years earlier., so I really feel for you. Maybe one day! Video - good idea! In the meantime, I post photos and reels on Instagram - @Wild.Pinebeck. My most watched is of a slow worm! Next most - my husband chopping wood with his top off. LOL!

😂🤣 I stopped Insta and FB a year ago, so I won't stalk the slow worm, or your husband!! ;-)

Thanks, Sanjida. It's always lovely to meet someone who 'gets it!' I'm keeping the link! I've a feeling you'll do well posting the videos on notes here. Oh and check out Karen Davis life in the real world! I love her photos.

Thank you for the recommendation. I wrote a post about friendship in September - apologies if you have seen it - but in the post I said was dropping some of my social media. My plan was only to keep Instagram. Then I realised I can’t access features I need on Instagram without Facebook 😡 So still have it but not posting to FB. How have you found being social media free?

Yes, I read that one, and yes, I had that issue too. However, my presence wasn't significant mainly friends and photos on FB, so I downloaded-saved and exited.

I'm not really social media free because I keep my LinkedIn profile for my mentoring business and to follow caregiving organisations/charities. But I've never been deeply into personal-posting.

I've realised I was starting to post more 'social' on Substack notes and will purposefully divert that time back to the Carer online forums. As you know, time management is a wholly different concept for carers!
