Hi there,
It’s been a year!
who writes , , who writes and I - - shared our journeys on Substack last night. If you missed it, the replay and the transcript are below.
Thank you to everyone who came, including
who writes ; Sam Morris, Ann Friedman, Caroline Sanderson, Jane England and Carol Tulpar. We discussed:
Why we started our Substacks and a brief overview of our newsletters.
What we offered to subscribers in our first year and what worked well, or not so well!
What our plans are for our second year .
What is unique about each of us and how we can each help you become a better writer. We believe that our skill sets are complementary to each other.
Here at you can expect:
three articles a month for members,
plus a masterclass or a workshop to help you become a better writer.
two instalments a month of Wilderness: In Search of Belonging, my nature memoir.
bonus short stories.
I’m committed to helping writers who want to be published and I specialise in fiction, particularly thrillers (psychological thrillers, suspense, domestic noir, crime fiction) and nature non-fiction.
Katherine and Emma both have exciting plans for their second year.
As Katherine says, she primarily focuses on well being - please look out for her article on building confidence and her Q&A this month, here at
.Emma offers a deeply nuanced and multi-layred approach to fiction and creative non-fiction, as you can see from the article she wrote for my subscribers last year:
That was a wonderful session yesterday. Thanks so much to all of you.
Thank you so much, it was really interesting to hear three different Substack journeys in the first year (even if Zoom did decide to 'unexpectedly quit' on me part way through). I was good to know that it is about constantly reviewing and refining what you write about and what you offer.
