I second all of this! I'm starting as an RLF Fellow this year and your experience has emboldened my choice to do this as a way to support a new writing project. Thanks, Sanjida!

You're welcome. Being an RLF Fellow was the most rewarding job I've ever had. Plus you get a paid lunch break!! If you ever want to talk or any advice, do get in touch.

Wow. Our backgrounds are similar. I worked for 30 years in television as an on-air promo producer.

Do you ever miss it? I used to but not any more. I got a bit tired of people making comments on my appearance and weight and how I should be flirting with the camera. I bet they don't say any of this to David Attenborough!

I still miss it, but I only got laid off in November. Plus, I was behind the camera. No need for makeup, or even to brush my hair. 😂. It's hard to beat a job where you are PAID to watch TV and make little trailers.

LOL That's so funny. I missed it for a long while. At the risk of sounding melodramatic, I felt like a monk who'd had to renounce the world and all worldly possessions.

Thank you! A lot of juggling going on to keep the writing ship afloat, but I think it's worth it!
